Auditions include: 60 sec. a cappella solo of a favorite rock, pop, jazz or r&b song. Pitch, range, blend and sight reading evaluation. The ability to read music is strongly recommended.

What’s up with the Name? ‘Two Weeks Notice’ was a joke in reference to our professional, stress-inducing jobs and the desire to move on. But, alas, the name grew on us, and here we are, all still working full-time jobs, and singing together for fun.
When does 2WN rehearse? We rehearse weekly, every Sunday night from 6:30 – 9 p.m. Beginning in the Fall 2010 season, we’ll use the last half hour to discuss general business, including gig opportunities, board decisions, etc. Missing multiple rehearsals is not an option. If you have other obligations that will conflict with regularly rescheduled rehearsals, this group may not be a good fit for you. All members are required at every rehearsal in order for the group to progress.
Where do you rehearse? For the Fall 2010 season, the 2WN board is currently finalizing a convenient rehearsal space in Royal Oak. Upon acceptance to the group, we will provide you with more details.
What is required to be a member of 2WN? Accountability, a strong commitment and great attitude. All members are accountable for knowing their music, attending required rehearsals, concerts and gigs. Two Weeks Notice requires strong musicianship skills to maintain the integrity of the music. Reading music is strongly preferred, as well as good pitch, blend, stage presence and the ability to sing solos as well as ensemble pieces.
If my audition goes well, what would be my personal commitment to 2WN as a member?
- Weekly Sunday Rehearsals, Sept through May, 6:30-9 p.m.
- Board & membership meetings occur between 8:30 and 9 p.m., after the musical portion of our rehearsals.
- Music memorization milestones, as determined by Music Director.
- Costume – INFORMAL – 2WN T-Shirt and jeans or khakis
- Costume – FORMAL – 2WN Color Palette on top, black waist down.
- Gigs once a month annually (Up to 5 PR events/performances per year, EXAMPLE: Caroling, Street Singing)
