And We’re Back!

January 17th, 2010 by Laura

So, we’re off - part two of our third season!  So much to say!

First, for those of you who have been following us since the beginning, I’m happy to report we are adding MANY new songs to our lineup!  Also, for the first time, we have kept all 16 members and are NOT holding auditions this semester.  If you are interested in auditioning, we invite you to continue supporting us through this season and attending our concert on May 15th.  We are so excited to be planning our first 2WN day retreat for the members, adding more microphones to the 2WN mix and are spending more time than ever with each other outside of rehearsal.  Things are lookin’ good!

Thanks for keeping up with us…we have so much in store for you.
Oh, did I fail to mention we’re recording tonight…uh, yup, we are!

December 5th!

October 26th, 2009 by Laura

Can you believe Halloween is already here?  So yes, that means the 2WN crew is getting ready for Christmas!  Now, some people love Christmas time and all that goes with it.  Honestly, I adore Christmas music, I think it’s just delightful.  But I realize not everyone has the same affinity for the tune-age that I do.  So this year, for our December concert, we have opted to have mostly contemporary pop with just a sprinkle of the holiday seasons thrown in for those of you like me, who just can’t enough of it.  I think 100.3 should be playing Christmas music any day now (yay!).

We’re going back to the Ringwald Theater, home of our debut concert it will be good to be back to one of our favorite cozy venues.  And you know what cozy means…it means you should reserve your tickets now!  We typically sell out the Ringwald so be sure to email us (info@twoweeksnotice.net) if you would like to reserve your tickets in advance.  As usual, this will be a family friendly show! Oh and we are delighted to have an opening group performing with us this year!  You’ll have to wait and see for yourself who our special guests are…you will not be disappointed!  -LQ

AUDITIONS!!! 9/13

August 2nd, 2009 by Laura

On Sunday, September 13th, at 6pm we will be holding auditions in our rehearsal space in Southfield. At this time, we are seeking 3+ Male singers Tenor or Bass with the ability to sing Baritone as needed.

We are looking for singers/musicians who were in groups in college, people who wanted to be in one but couldn’t fit it into their schedule, or anyone who wants to take part in a high-energy contemporary a cappella ensemble.

Bring a 1-2 minute a cappella solo of a favorite rock/pop/jazz/r&b song and be prepared to sight-read. The ability to read music is strongly recommended.

If you are interested in auditioning, please review these FAQs.

Please contact us if you would like to audition: info@twoweeksnotice.net

Summer Break updates

July 11th, 2009 by Brent

As is traditional, Two Weeks Notice likes to take the summers off of our busy rehearsal schedule to spend time with our families and friends. However, we do entertain opportunities for summer gigs – see our Booking page for info.

We already have some exciting things in the works this coming season, more details to come. We are looking forward to our first appearance at A Cappella Fest – Detroit on October 17th. We will be sharing the stage with another local a cappella group elmoTHUMM as well as other groups from around the country, TBD. See the A Cappella Fest – Detroit page for location, tickets, and other information.

Also, as you can see from the updated header, we have some new publicity photos. For those of you who are Fans of 2WN on Facebook, Simone has put together a new photo album as part of our Fan Page. You should see some of our other photos popping up around the site soon.
